XB12R big service, one off the swingarm brace bolts is a little chewy… will put a new one in, i don’t like to leave surpices for the next mechanic , the 15 minute belt change can become a 2 hour drilling job taken out a bolt

XB12R big service, commen mistake if you ask a HD dealer for spark plugs , they give you old sportster plugs… 6r12 is really the wrong heat grade for a XB !!

just a few little thing to do on the Battle Twin, just checking the brake light and the indicators… and start here up… 2 hours max… ok… she did not want play nice previeus hacks in the wire loom , little help from electrical scedules, and not being use to HD ’80 wire harness wink-emoticon i will get there, only takes a little longer , first check thing the bulbs and connectors if there not loose

RR1200, connectors and bulbs all good, so i put the tail back on, will not completly tighten it , as the rest off the bodie needs to be aligned

RR1200, look behind the dash…. sheesss can’t make head not tails out off this

RR1200, with the front fairing off i have better acces to the wire harness

RR1200, and a old XLS wire harness helps a little , as it basicly looks the same

RR1200, as the anti dive system is operated by the front brake light switch , disconnecting the wire to the suspension switch to rule this one out as the cause for the not functioning

RR1200, remade some wire connection from the feed to the brake light switch as they where very crummy

RR1200, and repaired a pulled out wire , this one was pulled out the terminal

RR1200, the brake light switch it self works

RR1200, ok front end works, but still not brake light fron the front ? tracing the cables the feed to the light is cut and capped off , and a rear brake light switch was added and used to the other end off this feed wire

RR1200, i maked a new feed for the rear brakelight switch, hooking up from one off the “fuses” with feed over contact

RR1200, air pressure brigde back on for the front forks airsupport , would been a very strange bike to work on in the old days , as allot off bolts are metric

RR1200, grond for the anti dive system hooked up neathly below the system ( was mounted on top )

RR1200, and giving the system a little air pressure 15 psi in the forks

RR1200, and 20 psi in the accumulator ( is activated while braking )

RR1200, closer look at the electrical fuel taps , 1 normal and 1 with lower position as reserve

RR1200, connector for the fuel taps … missing one wire ?

RR1200, also a wire pulled out off the connector… the ground wire , the normal solinoid works because off the voltage differance , but the reserve and reserve switch do not, will repair the ground wire

RR1200, little reconstuctive thinkering on the old terminal very carefully open the tabs and use a good crimper to crimp the conenction again

RR1200, fuel line connected again , and contact first time in a long time there is fuel in the carburator

RR1200, while i checked the caburator and it was clean, still looks like the float needle is sticking , after a few taps with the end off a screw diver the overflow stopped

RR1200, and it looks like the fuel connection leaks

RR1200, yep defenaly … ok you really don’t want this to leak… i will mount a new elbow , completely from brass

XB cases , crank and lower engine repair , the crank was send to us from repair, but given the damage to the crank i suspected also main bearing dammage, so we asked the customer to send in his case to, as it is waist off mony to perfectly repair a bigend bearing and leave the main bearings out off line and dammage , parts coem back from the machine shop, as a little service i will assemble the lower end

XB cases , crank very handy some gearbox axle stamps , the old gearboxes have loose rings on top , holding the gearbox like this they will stay on and will not interfear with the pressing

XB cases , crank, old stule shifter forks, check if the steel bushings roll freely on the stud

 

XB cases , crank, gearbox shafts pressed in, position the shifter forks in

XB cases , crank, and mount the shift drum , and guide the shift forks in the correct slots ( will only fit all in one position ) and give the slide shafts a tap to they are secureded int he case

XB cases , crank, after i have handled so many , it still amazes me how good the rods feel after we have rebuild it with the new design big end bearings and new side play bearings , pin is welded to make sure it will keep it straighness a long time. XB cases , crank, thin layer off case sealer on the edge, slide in the crank and gently put the other side cover on, use a screw diver ( or special tool ) to lift the shift drum detend arm over the shift pattern

XB cases , crank, stator plug a little precousion on sweating plug, give it a bead off silicone , i also make a bed off silicone for the stator wires under the holding plate

XB cases , crank, that was all i had off parts for this build, no secure and pack it well , protection against dirt and debris falling in the case… ready to ship back to the customer in Belgium

not continieus , when problem occursm coughin and spitting, bike needs to cool for 15-20 minutes and can be riden again.. as bought sensors are to the same ecm ground , ground problem ? looks like it mesuring the sensor/ ecm ground to the bank angle sensor — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

We have put together a complete small maintenance kit for your Buell 1125R or 1125CR for all model years from 2008-2010.

Our Kit contains:

4 liter Motul 300V 10W40 full synthetic engine oil.

1 x K&N High performance oil filter

1 x Oilfilter housing seal ring

1 x crush washer oil drain plug left side

1 x crush washer oil drain plug right side

This article is always in stock !!!

Small or 10000 km / 6200 mile service

We advice to change engine oil and filter,

And it is best to run the engine a little warm before you drain the engine oil, lubricate the oil filter housing  o-ring  with a little new oil before you screw it back on.

Use a new crush rings on the drain plugs ,and tighten

please see your manual how to check your oil level

Check the belt for ware and cracks,

Check the wheel bearings , front and rear , use a paddock stand to feel the bearings

Check your brake pads, for thickness , replace brake fluid at least every year

Check the clutch mechanisme for leaks.

Check the throttle on easy turning without sticking and not too much play

Check front fork and rear shock absorber for weeping seals

Check the engine for oil leaks,

Check and clean the airfilter, and clean the airfilter box from debri,

Check the coolant system for leaks, and Check the level

Check and clean the radiators,

reset the service counter Buell 1125 Models.

A reset causes the service odometer to advance to the next service interval. Any service reminder messages displayed during startup are also cleared.

With ignition key ON and security system disarmed, enter the setup menu by pressing and holding the Toggle and Mode switches for five seconds.

See Resetting the Service Odometer. Press the Mode switch to advance to the SERVICE COUNTER menu item. Press the Toggle switch to select.

Press the Toggle switch to display MODE TO RESET.

NOTE:

Pressing the Toggle switch again will exit the Service Clear menu item without resetting the service odometer. A SERVICE NOT RESET message will be displayed.

To reset the service odometer, press the Mode switch. A SERVICE RESET message is displayed.

The setup menu will advance to the next menu item. To exit the setup menu, click the Mode switch until the Exit menu item is displayed. Click the Toggle switch to exit the setup menu.

1125r trouble shooting , take care if you pull off the airbox base… the 1125 are durt suckers. and the airbox will be full with dirt and debris , puling it off to hard ( to over come the rubber seals around the intake stacks ) you can drop the dirt in the throttle bodies — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

In this Topic you can follow the progress of the development of our Dual outlet High Performance Torque Hammer exhaust. We have dynoed many exhaust systems, almost all from all manufacturers. We have seen good designs bad designs and very poor italian and german designs. AFter analyzing a lot of data, and after many request from our customers we made a exhaust that has the real deal. Deep and dark and high performance with the looks. This topic will be all about dyno data and the compare with our own current Torque Hammer for the XB. That is also a high performance exhaust only mad with the prupose of getting TUV and not to be too loud for normal driving and still good performing.

We developed this exhaust because many customers asked us for a dual outlet exhaust with a deep and dark sound and with a complete flat torque curve and High HP result, well here we come.

We are busy with the tunes and dyno now but al looks very promising. We will post video’s, soundclips and dyno info later. Ready for ordering. The exhaust comes with mounting hardware for the OEM fitting.
