a other daily driver .. in for big check up

check and tighten the battery connections

letting the bike warmup to drain the oil

the 1125 are really dirt suckers

take it off complete , so the knocking about will not result in gettnig sand in the throttle bodies

left drain plug

mnnn will mount everything back proper … customer had mounted this exhaust

drain right side

a little wet here… try to tighten the screws.. if not the gasket is blow out…

taking bets. if the bearings are blown 😉

that douse not hapen allot , need to full the coolent

riding on salty roads… instant murder for your bike ,

yep… bearings are toast

side stand sensor brace was loose.. and has been laying on the exhaust, hence the melted parts

the screw was missing..we have theme… no it wil not make so much slamming noise , as the bracket is also the side stand stop , the side stand was ramming against the exhaust

one very dirty airbox off for cleaning

bike swapped around to remove the front end

exhaust removal.. easier when you loosen the right foot peg bracket

making ready for valve play check , cover off

and plug out.. this will leak a little

front end out.. bearings are ok

removing the fork legs, to replace the oil and better acces to the valve cover

cutting the zip ties holding the wires right side and horn

loosen the rear O2 sensor connector , as you will pull it off rotating the engine

pinch bolts loos

and middle engine bolts out

loosening the rear bolts a little to make rotating up easier

and the 2 front bolts out

air intake loose and pull it out

engine rotated down… check the ecm/ sensor ground cable on the front head .. as this one can corrode and is very hard to reach

you see the bolt is corroded, and the washer to.. i put a new washer in

front plug out

checking the new plug, a little grease and new plug back in

loosening the cover screws

cover off and checking the valve play .. ok

intake. some pitting in the cam. but is not transfering a wear pattern on the valve finger.. not a big issue .. keep a eye on it , valve play is good

you see the pitting , it is below the surface

front coil back on.. i did find the connector a little loose, so i put in a extra lock with a ziptie , rear cylinder valve play is also ok

engine up

and first the 2 front bolts in

than start thightening left side

ziptie the wire harness in place

and bought pods can be mounted

front legs serviced.. with some fresh oil

and these can go back in… tighten only the top for now.. as i need to retighten the steering head bearings

frotn wheel in and axle tightened

caliper back on

steering stem bolt loose , and little grease in there to resist the corrosion

tightening the steering head bearings

pinch bolt tight

and now you can tighten the lowers

brakes feela digital on -/ off

little cleaning and fresh grease.. and it feels so

fresh fuild on

and drain the clutch

i put some noce black screws in 

rear fluid.. much forgotten … nasty looking

nice black screws

and new brake fluid and cleaning

coolant to level

is the 2e exhaust already on this bike… really crappy steel

riding off side walks douse not help

rear mounting bolts in

front left bolt… the loose nut needs a spanner to hold it

positioning the right front mounting nut.. sliding it in the slot

tap the headers free odd tension.. and tighten the clamps

filling with oil… need a steady hand

pod covers back on

airbox base cleaned

map sensor mounted the right way

airfilter cleaned and primed

resetting the service counter

and letting here warmup for oil level check and test ride

nice clean bike

lets start wtith the basics anf tighten the battery cables

checking the sparkplg cables.. left scoop needs to be removed… missing one screw so far

version 2 model spark plug cable these are old…

little spray test with some watter… yep front one cuts out

could not do a test for the intake seals .. i will first make here run on 2 cylinders

something we need to do witht he next service, the front engine mount is sagging

but first… airbox off

and front cable … that this still worked is a wonder to me

about complete rubbed through

i will put in new plugs to..

rear plug in

new cables on.. point the cable inwards

and new front cables.. also point the cable inward so it runs free off the wireharness

now we can do a intake seal test… yep these leak to

dis conneting the top side

W-brace loose

old style sidestand… just checking 🙂 yep was loose

could get it out with out losening the stand it self

cleaned and red loctite

bugger.. pivot broke any way.. and this was just a little more than hand tight … ok will modifiy the stand to fit the new style pivot pin

on with the intake seals . throttle cables off

engine supported and front bolt out

with the engine down.. acces to the throttle body.. loosening the bolts with a cut off 1/4 allen key

yep defenaly leaking

little bite marks

cleaned and new gaskets .. tighten the flanges evenly

engine up and w-brace in place. cleaning the threads.. as the screw came out very difficult

cable connected and adjusting the free play on the lever

hooking in the throttle cables

and stack back on

side stand modified to acept the new style solid pivot pin

and pulling the spring on

contact… checked the tps… still ok… she runs sweet ..

just a little oil check as the customer asked this.. could do with a little … we will make a apointment for service soon

breaker bar and 200 LBS gorrila needed to loosen the rear axle… the customers tyre guy needs a kick in a soft place , way to tight.. the hex in the axle is even distorted — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

fuel pump out, and turn the engine over on the starter to get oil pressure (a little help with compressed air in the oil tank can be needed ) — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

1125R.. making it faster and just a little more noise … well lets start with the airfilter — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

as these little dirt suckers eat about anything they find on there way — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

small tip, ,leave the filter on if you want to pull off the base plate… witht the airfilter off, the dirt can fall in the throttle bodies — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

idle hose .. put a zipwire on to hold it better in place — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

and we don;t need no automatic throttle mover , disconnect the cable , — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

after you remove the cable, bind the 2 throttle cams to getter , i use safety wire, but a ziptie works to — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

base plate back on.. check the throttle cables / mechanism on binding, K&N filter in for more intake noise.. and update the fuel mapping… even with out stacks and with stock exhaust i would say 10 Hp more.. and more important more TQ middle — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

after waiting for the correct piston rings.. — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

oil craper rings.. first the wokkel one in than the thin ones — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

fresh from honing these need to be cleaned very good — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

i take a tube with soap and hot watter and start scrubbing for some time.. you should be able to run a clean rag throught the bores with out picking up dirt … this right away has a down side you need to coat the bores with a light oil right way.. as you can see the corrosion start with in a few minutes after cleaning — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

check the ring end gaps… don’t trust no one, you build it , you measure it — bij Twin Motorcycles Buell Support forever.

checking while hot.. yep intake seals are leaking

while hot drain the oil

removing the covers while the bike is draining

fresh gearbox oil in

adjusting the clutch.. put some never sees on before you screw it in

checking the primairy cover on cranks ( inside ) the holder for the ball and ramp can crack

fresh oil filter , prime and wet the o-ring

old model side stand pivot.. just checking.. already put this in with red loctite 😉 it is still tight

rear wheel out.. bearing check … these are gone

belt is ok ,, starting to show some wear but nothing special

fresh bearings in

and rear wheel back in . axle set to 66 Nm

while idle on the lift.. i could here the primairy chain.. was a little loose, check the play on 3 point before adjusting

new gasket and cover back on

rotating the engine down. weight off the engine and front bolt loose

nicely corroded… i will clean it and put some neversees on

wires no longer used , exhaust solinoid cables … will remove this .. and make the bike faster 😉

airbox off and top mount loose

clutch cable was already loose, throttle wire need also be removed

connections loose under the bonnet , ready to lower the engine

cut off allen wrench works very good to loose these bolts

and throttle bodie can come off , you see the vacuum bite marks in the seal

with the engine down… plugs are easy

set the gap en put a little neversees on the threads

check the plug connectors for corrosion

very clean XB12Sx 2010 in for service check up

battery cables always check these

after a little running, drain the oil

and changing the oil filter

nice 2010 3 bearing wheel..

still i like to check it , no dought these are ok

exhaust has been scraping

the 2010 rear axles are black

adn the wheel have a extra dust seal , and 2 bearings at the pully side , 1 on the disk side

disk side aswell has a spacer ring for the seal ,

wheel back in, checking the primary chain

needed a little adjustment

covers and brackets back on

loose grip … don’t like theme

some thin glue will fix this

indicator half broken off , easy fix, these stems come as spare part

full..? naaah just a little crowded

engine up and tq the front mount to 66 NM

the cover bolts are corroded by chemical agents in, i suspect the cleaner soap

but gives me a change to put some nice accent ones on

oils out

while draining putting back some other pieces from the coater

gearbox oil back in

and engine oil back in.. nice fuller cap… shame they are no longer made

powder coating is a thick coating.. for some things you would be needing to remove this for things to work..

i know i need the remove the coating on the surface where the pivot bushing rests other wise the lever will jam

with out forks and wheel.. you really feel it, the steering head bearings are on there way out and are notchy feeling

front ens needs to come off.. and will replace the horn as the brackets broke off

special t45 temper proof bit to unscrew the steering lock

and the triple t can come off

little tapping further.. old bearings out

and new ones ready to go in

the high side ( long race ) needs to stick out , on bought sides

triple back in , put the fork legs in before you tighen the stem nut , to aline the front

mounting back the pieces

wheel back in

and back on bought wheels , enough for to day
